Please have a read of the volunteering vacancies that we have and see if there is anything that you could help us with.
Fund-Raising Co-ordinatorTo ensure that we can continue to help needy cats and kittens in the Northampton area we need to raise money through our fund-raising activities. This is where you can help! We are looking for an out-going person to fill the voluntary post of Fund-Raising Co-ordinator. This is a varied role which would suit someone with good organising ability, who enjoys talking to people and, of course, really wants to help cats. It's a busy job so you'll need plenty of time and enthusiasm. The role includes: Organisation of fund-raising events including booking venues and specialist equipment, administration of other fund-raising schemes e.g. 100 Club and raffles, ensuring there are sufficient volunteers to run events, organising a rota of volunteers to ensure that workload is distributed fairly, ensure that the Branch has adequate supplies of CP merchandise for sale at stalls. Telephone Helpline Operators - Voluntary roleOur Telephone Helpline Operators work from their own homes, and a good telephone manner is essential. Calls are either transferred to their own telephone or picked up from our answering service. All forms completed need to be passed to relevant officers on a daily basis, preferably by email. The Helpline opening hours are 10am until 4pm Monday to Friday, however many of our volunteers work full time, in which case it is perfectly acceptable to deal with the messages on the answering service in the evening, if this is more convenient. Any telephone charges incurred are reimbursed, and full training is provided. A telephone is obviously essential and a computer with email is highly desireable.

Fundraisers - Voluntary roleIf you enjoy manning a stall or spending a couple of hours shaking a tin on collecting days, then we would be very glad of your help. Fundraising is a basic essential of the work we do because if we have no funds then we cannot pay the Vet bills and therefore we cannot help any cats. With vet bills currently running at around £1000 per month we have to fundraise continually to ensure the cats receive all the care they need. Even only a few hours from time to time would be a great help. Other ways you can help include holding an event of your own at your home or workplace, wine and cheese or coffee evenings, or perhaps a barbeque or party plan evening. Possibly a raffle or wear what you like and pay £1 day at work. We can help with CP information and leaflets, membership forms, collecting tins etc.
